Here is a quick “how-to” install OpenSSH Server on Windows 7, inluding setting up on system startup
 

  1. Download cygwin here
     

  2. Run the cygwin installer
  3.  

  4. Select Install from Internet
  5.  

  6. Install following packages :

    Admin -> cygrunsrv
    Net -> openssh

  7.  

  8. Launch/open Cygwin Emulator
  9.  

  10. Type this following command on the terminal emulator
    ssh-host-config -y
  11.  

  12. When “CYGWIN=” prompted type :
    tty ntsec
  13.  

  14. Start the service with system startup
    cygrunsrv -S sshd
  15.  

  16. If there is an error occurred, just kill the “cygrunsrv” with task manager.
  17.  

  18. Finally test it!
